The Hall Committee invites you to camp at the hall for the Man From Snowy River Bush Festival, 7th - 10th April 2022.
Thowgla Hall & Recreation Reserve at a Glance
Thowgla Hall & Recreation Reserve Committee is made from a group of Thowgla residents, who are trusted to upkeep the hall and raise funds for future renovations.
The Hall is used for many social events, and is the home of our annual Christmas Party; the kids have the night of their lives and the Hall brings our community together.

Dates & Cost
Join us in 2022, the Man From Snowy River Festival runs from Thursday 7th April to Sunday 10th April 2022.
You are welcome to camp with us from Monday 4th April and beyond the festival dates if required.
Sites are $20Â per person per night, capped at $60 per site.
Our new renovations has provided us with a full kitchen and hot showers with changing rooms that will be cleaned daily.
Location
Only 5 km from Corryong, and even closer to the reenactment site, we are the ideal location to base yourself to enjoy all the festival has to offer, see map at the bottom of the page.
We have hosted campers for 2 years now, and our guests love the quiet tranquility of the valley, spacious sites, and close proximity to town.
Breakfast by the camp fire
Due to hall renovations and no kitchen, we will not be doing a BBQ breakfast this year, please come back next year to see our new hall and sample some Thowgla Hospitality.
Hall Renovation
During the 2019-2020 bush fires the Thowgla Valley sustained a sever hit. Being a valley of resilient and hard working locals, the Hall Committee are renovating the hall to make it a functional community hub. Somewhere we can get a hot shower, cook a meal, and socialise if disaster should every strike again, but also be a well used asset in our community for years to come.
Internal Face Lift
Making a Difference in the appearance of the hall will ensure longevity and frequent use.
The hall renovations have only been possible with grants from Biz Rebuild and FRRR.
Water
We have added an extra water tank, to supply our new hot showers and hold emergency water when needed.
Kitchen Upgrade
Building a larger kitchen, to make this space useable, clean and perfect for catering events.
The KItchen upgrade is thanks to funds from Border Trust and Biz Rebuild.
Our beautiful new floors were achieved with a grant from St Vinnies.
Off Grid Capabilities
The hall will also be equipt with communication methods and solar power, making it a refuge centre for future generations and have the ability to generate its own income, reducing its carbon footprint. We have been successful in receiving a grant from DELWP for this.
